RAILWAY AVENUE | WAHROONGA

This adaptive reuse project in Wahroonga on sydnye’s North Shore revitalised a former Commonwealth Bank tenancy through a carefully considered architectural design focused on activating the street frontage and enhancing the local village character.

The project involved the refurbishment of the existing commercial space into two contemporary retail tenancies, creating opportunities for new businesses while improving pedestrian engagement along the streetscape. A key priority of the design was to retain and respect the established architectural character of the building, ensuring the new works integrated seamlessly within the surrounding context.

The architectural approach balanced contemporary functionality with sensitive detailing, upgrading the presentation of the tenancy while maintaining the scale, rhythm and material qualities that contribute to Wahroonga’s traditional village identity.

Our engaged services extended to preparing the concept design, architectural documentation and project management of the consultancy team for the Development Application (DA) stage.
